Brief of History of Stamped Fresh Concrete

The first stamping tools were developed by Brad Bowman more than 50 years ago. In Monterey, Ca. in the middle 1950's, Mr. Bowman developed the original cast-in-place, colored, textured and imprinted concrete paving. He refined and expanded the process until 1970 when the Bomanite Corporation was established in its present form. His invention is a basis for the decorative concrete industry as we know it today.

In the last decade there has been a great increase in the popularity of this technique. The tools available have been even further refined to include polyurethane mats, flexible mats, texturing skins and a great variety of coloring options.
